Project Overview
DC House announces itself quietly. The entry sequence is composed through warm materials — timber ceilings dissolve into the front door, creating a continuous visual gesture that draws you in. A cantilevered volume marks the threshold, its facade layered with a considered mix of textures: warm, restrained and precisely balanced.
The front facade is deliberately closed — a design decision, not a constraint. A single aperture delivers natural light to the main living space, creating a quality of light that is focused and dramatic. The rear facade inverts this entirely, opening fully onto the courtyard and bringing each room into direct connection with the outdoors.
Concrete, timber and light-toned tile are the materials that define the project from inside out. The brief asked for a home where the client's vision could be felt through materiality and space — and the studio answered by demonstrating that raw and refined, cool and warm, can not only coexist but become the defining character of a house.
Exposed concrete is used with intention throughout. On the exterior, a monolithic wall runs along the facade, creating a quiet boundary between the parking and the private bedroom wing. Inside, the same material reappears alongside the living and dining areas — structural in function, but unmistakably architectural in presence.
